The news is starting to come again as vendor look to promote predictions pieces for 2020.  Appointments are also coming thick and fast some of which are not being formally announced, such as those at Infor.

Acquisitions

Accel-KKR has completed the acquisition of Springbrook, a provider of cloud-based ERP and payments software for local government. Accell-KKR acquired the company from Accela’s portfolio and terms were not disclosed.

Dell Boomi announced the completion of its acquisition of Unifi Software. It previously announced it would acquire the company in December 2019.

Bullhorn has announced the acquisition of one of its ecosystem partners, Herefish. Herefish is a provider of automation solutions for staffing firms. Terms were not disclosed. It was founded in 2015 by Jason Heilman and Travis Arnold and based in St Louis prior to the acquisition. It has raised no funding. (Source Crunchbase)

Coupa has announced the acquisition of travel price optimisation specialist Yapta. Founded in 2007 Yapta has raised $25.9 million in venture funding and debt refinancing (Source Crunchbase). Terms were not disclosed.

Trackforce has acquired SilverTrac Software. This brings further consolidation to the security guard software market. Trackforce now has more than 2,500 customers and 300,000 users across 30,000 customer sites in 45 countries.

Appointments

Aptean has appointed Robert Kocis as Chief Revenue Officer. Kocis was previously CRO at Continuum and also held leadership positions at ANSYS Inc and PTC.

Automation Anywhere has appointed Yousuf Khan as Chief Information Officer. Khan was previously CIO and Vice President of Customer Success at Moveworks and was the CIO of Pure Storage.

Bullhorn appointed Kristin Machacek as Chief People Officer.  She joined from Hitachi Bantara where she was CHRO.

Cyara, the customer experience (CX) assurance platform, has appointed Paul Tocatlian as Vice President of Engineering.

Ivanti has named Jim Schaper as Chairman and CEO. He replaces Steve Daly who will remain on the board. It also named several other key appointments. Schaper was CEO and then Chairman of Infor and has brought several Infor people into other senior positions.

SnapLogic has appointed Dayle Hall as Chief Marketing Officer. Hall was previously CMO at People.ai.

UiPath has announced the promotion of Mandy Sebel to Chief People Officer, effective 31 January 2020. She is currently SVP of People for the Americas. She will take over from Marius Istrate who is leaving the company.

Business News

Appogee HR published a round up of its progress in 2019. It saw a 94% renewal rate and 89% CSAT scores for its HRMS. It announced the launch of a performance management product Appogee Goals. The company also added more integrations and improvements to other products.

LandscapeHub has announced a strategic alliance with Epicor. The agreement will enable Epicor Retail customers (presumably Epicor Eagle) to streamline their plant purchasing and selling through an integration with LandscapeHub.

OutSystems celebrated reaching one million downloads for OutSystems Forge. This is its free repository for more than 2,500 developer assets using its low code platform.

Priority Software has announced a partnership with Avalara. US customers can utilise AvaTax to calculate sales tax within their Priority application. Priority is now a certified for AvaTax.

Archrock, a US based energy infrastructure company has selected DSI Cloud Inventory for Oracle Cloud ERP. Leveraging mobile and barcode capabilities it will optimize its Oracle Fusion Inventory solution.

ByrneLooby, an international engineering firm is deploying the EleVia electronic invoicing solution, integrated with Deltek Vision worldwide. This will cut time to invoice and improve cash flow at the company

EaglePicher Technologies, a leading producer of batteries and energetic devices for aerospace, defense and medical markets has selected IFS Applications as its ERP solution.

Barnhardt Manufacturing Company, a leading producer of natural fiber and foam products, has chosen IFS Applications 10 ERP. It will deploy the solution in Azure Cloud.

TPG Hotels & Resorts will deploy Infor Hospitality Management Solutions (HMS) across its portfolio. It will replace legacy solutions in several of its properties.

Infor has renewed and extended its agreement with Accor Hotels for Infor EzRMS revenue management software. Accor will extend its use of the software to more hotels, adding to the 1,100 properties that use it already.

Marks & Spencer has deployed Microsoft Teams and JDA Workforce Management across 700 stores to improve its workforce management.

CTG has announced that it will deploy Microsoft Dynamics ERP at Fonds du Logement (FDL) in Luxembourg. This adds to other recent wins in the country.

South African retailer Home Choice has deployed Oracle Retail Cloud in just 12 weeks. It has already deployed Oracle Retail Merchandise Financial Planning Cloud Service with support from Oracle Gold partner Cognira. It will now deploy Oracle Customer Experience (CX) Commerce, Oracle Retail Assortment Planning Cloud Service, Oracle Retail Science Platform Cloud Service, and Oracle Retail Offer Optimization Cloud Service.

Oracle announced that North Queensland stadium, Australia has selected several Oracle technology products as it readies itself for the arrival of North Queensland Cowboys. It will deploy Oracle MICROS Simphony Cloud Point of Sale (POS) systems throughout the stadium.

ProcessPro Global ERP solution was selected by Innovative Freeze-Dried Food, a diversified food freeze dryer manufacturer located in Washington.

Aerospace Systems Company, a division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) and leading Japanese manufacturer of aircraft, has signed a deal with SAP. It has selected the SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing solution for production engineering and operations to integrate its design and manufacturing processes. The deployment replaces a paper based system used for many of its manufacturing processes.

The city of Oxnard, California is implementing Tyler Technologies ERP solution to replace a legacy 30 year old application. The initial contract is worth more than $7 million with just under $1 million in annual SaaS revenues for Tyler.

eDays have provided a free Excel staff holiday planner. It enables users to track absence and then uses formula to collate the absences into a single sheet for easy reporting and analysis.

Jesta I.S. has announced its latest version of Vision CRM includes an AI-Driven analytics platform powered by Snowflake and Tableau.

Nintex has made available a new gallery of process templates for customers to get faster time to value for its low code automation platform. The company also launched Nintex University, making it available worldwide. It will give customers easy access to training courses and certifications through a variety of formats..

Pandle has added bank feeds for Cashplus and Yorkshire Bank to its accounting solution.

Recruiter.com is now available for users of SAP FieldGlass from the SAP App Center.  This will integrate the Recruiter.com job market platform with SAP Fieldglass.

Shoptech has unveiled a new option for its Scheduling Module. The new E2 SHOP Planning Board allows job shops to visually plan their job scheduling using a new interactive planning board.

simPRO has announced that its major project for 2020 will be the roll-out of a new user interface and user experience for its solution. The first release of the year on 13th January will improve the navigation of users when looking at invoices.

Research

InfinityQS has published a whitepaper entitled: “SPC for the Food and Beverage Industry”. It looks at the benefits of Statistical Process Control (SPC), a data-driven method for measuring and controlling quality during the manufacturing process. It also highlights findings from a study that looked at the benefits of SPC.

Kronos unveiled its five predictions for global workforces in a blog:

Perkbox, an employee experience platform and CV Library have identified when professionals are most likely to search for a job. Three results were highlighted. January is the most popular month with most people starting to look locally asking for “jobs near me”. However October, July and September are the most popular months for job postings.

Salesforce has revealed that 2019 digital sales during the holiday period grew by 8% to $723 billion worldwide. More detailed information is available in the 2019 Holiday Shopping Report. The report analyses data from billions of data points from Commerce Cloud, Marketing Cloud and Service Cloud. The findings, Salesforce notes, should help businesses prepare for 2020.

Showpad has found that sales staff are not adequately supported when selling complex and high value goods and services. 25% of companies fail to train sales teams and 65% fail to use modern techniques.
